Moon Snail Kids

Moon Snail Kids

I founded Moon Snail Kids in early 2024 after finding the children’s art landscape largely lacking. While preparing a nursery for my first child, I couldn’t find art that felt modern yet earnest; much of it felt trite, and as an artist and designer, I couldn’t stomach putting it on my walls—let alone spending money on work I realized I could do myself, and arguably better. I began creating my own pieces for our home and for friends, which ultimately became the foundation for the brand.

Moon Snail Kids is an illustration-driven children’s art and apparel studio built on bold color, playful subject matter, and cohesive visual systems. I lead creative direction, illustration, product design, and brand development, shaping everything from wall art and apparel to packaging and e-commerce. Through consistent brand storytelling and design-led marketing, the studio operates as a design-first practice, creating modern work for kids that doesn’t compromise grown-up taste. What began as small print runs made at a local FedEx has since grown into a company shipping prints and apparel nationwide, with a growing wholesale presence in local brick-and-mortar retail spaces.

CUSTOM NAME POSTERS

By far our most popular item: our custom name posters are designed to be both visually intentional and personally meaningful. Each poster is customizable, allowing customers to choose from eight carefully curated, modern color palettes that complement a wide range of interiors. The letterforms are illustrated to be bold, legible, and playful—encouraging early letter recognition while remaining aesthetically refined enough to grow with the child. The result is a personalized piece of art that functions as both learning tool and long-term wall art.

The artwork is graphic, pared back, and intentionally minimal—inspired by the gorgeous simplicity and folk-art sensibility of Hans Christian Andersen paper cutouts. The style draws from artists who work with cut-paper forms and reduction, including Henri Matisse, Charley Harper and Eric Carle. By focusing on shape, color, and balance over detail, the art feels playful, timeless, and visually calm.
